Am ‎S̶̲̥̅ơ̴̴̴̴̴̴͡ happy τ̅ have the opportunity τ̅ read about this great man.I wonder why his name,his examplary leadership qualities,his unprecedented acheivements have been allow τ̅ go down the drain.The whole of africa is in need of another thomas sankara.I just hope Ɣ generation gets τ̅ know about this great leader,,τ̅ emulate his qualities and uphold his political philosophy.I also want τ̅ thank the writer of this article.‎G̶̲̥̅Ơ̴̴̴̴͡D̶̲̥̅ bless the soul of thomas sankara.

Thomas Sankara was a true revolutionarist , who we can’t compare him with no one in the current leaders of Africa . He had a serious vision for Africa. Today we are lead by our own African brothers with minds of the westernest people. Africa itself is known as poor countinent , bt rich in mineral that taken by europeans and our so called leaders. Long live the undying spirit of the greatest ever leader Thomas Sankara .

The Resurrection of the ideas of Thomas Sankara

Africa and the world through Blaire Compaore have put everything in place to ensure that the ghost of Thomas Sankara does not come back to haunt them. Even Compaore should know that was always going to be a very tall order no matter how long he is in power at the behest of France

I did not however expect to see the day when the people of austerity-ravaged Europe would rise up to demand from their government what Thomas Sankara preached decades ago: the repudiation of debt, the fall of the unfettered free market, true gender equality, healthcare reforms and poverty alleviation.

The name Thomas Sankara will surely rise again and the long suffering people of Africa will take their rightful place in the committee of nations. Thomas Sankara and Africa will surely rise again. It is not over.

Thank you, Nick, for this timely article. I have been an ardent advocate for Thomas Sankara and his policies for as long as I first heard of him. He led the first anti-poverty march in Africa, leading the people himself; he never went in for Mercedes Benz or other posh cars, or sideriders for ‘protection’ …. He promoted gender equality in a way then unknown in the continent…
I have always wondered whether any bigger power was behind Blaise Compaore and the assassination, which robbed the whole continent, if not the world, of a visionary, practical, people-centred, leader. (Maybe Lumumba would have been such if…?)
